Detection of Water Blotches in Antique Documents

In this paper we propose a new algorithm to detect the water blotches in antique documents. It is based on the segmentation of the image with morphological reconstructions combined with the rational filer (RF). Experimental results show that it is able to achieve good results also in critical situations.
